563. Dexys Midnight Runners - Don't Stand Me Down

Rating: 1985
Label: Mercury

I can't really begin to explain how I feel about this album. On the one hand, the production and musicianship is first class. On the other, the decision to include conversaitonal snippets isn't.

501. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too-rye-ay

Release Date: 1982
Label: Mercury

Anybody who bought the Dexy's first album having only been familiar with 'Come on Eileen' will perhaps be reassured by the sound of fiddles on this, their second release. They will also be pleased to note the album is just as good as the band's debut.

455. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels

Release Date: 1980
Label: Parlophone

This is an album I already own. Surprisingly it is the first Parlophone album on the list since The Beatles' Abbey Road from 1969. Clearly the 70s weren't a good year for EMI's most famous label. By the way, you wont find anything like 'Come on Eileen' on this.
