842. Primal Scream - Vanishing Point

Release Date: 1997
Label: Creation

'Vanishing Point is my favourite Primal Scream album,' said nobody ever.

Rating: 4/10

809. Super Furry Animals - Fuzzy Logic

Release Date: 1996
Label: Creation

For a long time I have been interested in the Super Furry Animals. On paper they are a band I know I'll love, but I've never got beyond a compilation and one studio album (bought because it has my (at the time) favourite song on it. And I love most of the songs on it. Ditto with this album.

Rating: 9/10

805. Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory

Release Date: 1995
Label: Creation

I have this one too.

Rating: 10/10

768. Oasis - Definitely Maybe

Release Date: 1994
Label: Creation

I have this too.

754. The Boo Radleys - Giant Steps

Release Date: 1993
Label: Creation

I was really disappointed with this album. It seemed to me to be an hours worth of half-baked ideas that never quite reached their potential.

Rating: 4/10

706. Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque

Release Date: 1991
Label: Creation

Sometimes you'll hear records that sound like the future (e.g. Massive Attack) or sometimes you'll listen to something that reminds you of the past. There is nothing wrong with either of these things.

705. Primal Scream - Screamadelica

Release Date: 1991
Label: Creation

I own this one already.

Rating: 7/10

685. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Release Date: 1991
Label: Creation

I have been looking forward to listening to this album for a while. It's one of those records that's been in my orbit for a number of years, but I've never got round to listening to it. This is one of the reasons why I think this book is so rewarding. Anyway, along with Ride's album (684) this is another essential shoegazing album, and probably the best one.

Rating: 8/10

684. Ride - Nowhere

Release Date: 1990
Label: Creation

I'm familiar with Ride without being familiar with any of their music. Andy Bell (not him from Erasure) would eventually replace Guigsy in Oasis at the end of the 90s. This album is one of the essential 'shoegazing' albums, and a perfect entry into the genre.

Rating: 8/10

623. My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything

Release Date: 1988
Label: Creation

Sometimes you just have to admit that you don't share your musical tastes with all the critics and tastemakers. I've heard MBV's second album - Loveless - is the most important album in their canon, so hopefully we'll have better luck there.
