As the leaders, if not necessarily the most talented band, of the punk revolution, hopes were high for the Sex Pistols' only studio album. By the time they came to record it, they had already been dropped by several record labels, gained notoriety for swearing live on TV, and replaced Glen Matlock with Sid Vicious. What the latter had in attitude, he lacked in talent. The album has its flaws, but as a snapshot of the time, there isn't a better set of songs.
